The shameless flirt

While we were on holiday, I rekindled an old flame.

Sydney.

I love her grand old sandstone buildings,
her towering walls of glass,
her blue water backdrops,
painterly clouds and birdsongs,
her breath smelling sweetly of spring.

How I'd love to grow old with her.

  1. I'm loving these pics. It's been many years since I've been to Sydney (I don't think two hours in the transit lounge of the international terminal counts).

The first time I ever went there properly it was 1994. I'd been on the overnight train from Melbourne. I walked straight out and said "Where's the Manly Ferry and the Opera House?" Had to see those two things.

It really is an iconic Australian city - there is no other like it.

    1. Ah, the Manly Ferry. I have such lovely childhood memories of outings with my grandma on that ferry. I desperately wanted to fit that in on our trip, but time-wise we had to make do with a quick morning visit to Cockatoo Island.
